Our Head Office department is located in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.
Role Purpose:
- To ensure the company stays compliant across all jurisdictions (direct and indirect taxes)
- To provide expert advice and guidance to all internal and external stakeholders
- To maximise capital allowances
- Be the main point of contact for tax advisors, HMRC and overseas tax authorities
- Provide timely updates on tax developments
Key Accountabilities:
- All tax returns across all jurisdictions, including VAT, Corporation tax, GST, Excise & Duties
- Compliance with all local regulations, including registrations and reporting requirements
- Proactive communication with the Group tax specialists, agreeing annual allowance split between the companies within the group
- Provide training and guidance to the internal teams, including compliance with Corporate Criminal Offence act
- Sign off sales VAT rate on F&M product range
- Reviewing and enhancing internal controls around tax on domestic and import/export transactions
- Property taxes, ie stamp duties and rates
- Employment taxes and benefits
- Reconciliation of all tax accounts on a periodic basis
We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- In depth knowledge of UK tax legislations
- Understanding of international tax regulations related to trade, employment and permanent establishment
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to details
- Good communication skills
- Excellent excel skills
- At least 5 years of tax management experience
- Ability to work within a dynamic fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- ERP experience, ideally Microsoft Dynamics
- Retail experience
