We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in London. The Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including but not limited to bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline, at least 5 years of work experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be responsible, and be able to work independently. Fluency in Mandarin is preferred for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Ensure a smooth internal month and year-end close.
  • Ensure that reported results are provided with pace and accuracy in line with company deadlines.
  • Oversee all monthly transactions, journals, accruals & prepayments to ensure the accuracy of the monthly/annual accounts.
  • Complete and review of balance sheet reconciliations each month
  • Provide monthly/annual management accounts with supporting commentary to the line manager.
  • Prepare and process reconciliations and perform general ledger management tasks, including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • A recognised accountancy qualification, such as CIMA, ACCA, HKICPA, or ICAEW, is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in accounting or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and projects
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
