Responsibilities

  • Work with planning and rollout teams located in Germany to coordinate and realise implementation projects.
  • Coordinate with Telehouse providers and vendors to request quotes, place orders, coordinate deliveries, supervise installation, and support finance and accounting for securing installation services, air-conditioning, AC and DC power, space, telecommunications equipment, and other parts such as cabinets, cables, and connectors panels.
  • Support the International Network Management Center (INMC) and other NOCs onsite with troubleshooting on voice, IP, and transport equipment.
  • Act as the escalation point for the NOCs, manage maintenance providers, and keep access lists up to date.
  • Perform smaller installations, upgrades, and changes, often outside of business hours.
  • Work night shift as required around customer migrations, predicted on average once a month or as business need dictates.

Qualifications

  • Recognised training in electrical engineering, telecommunications, IT, or a degree with comparable content.
  • Several years of hands-on field experience with testing, troubleshooting at the physical layer, and basic knowledge of OTDR and OSA.
  • Experience with the concept of carrier hotels, data centres, Telehouse, interconnections, and NNIs.
  • Hands-on skills with installation and cabling of equipment such as routers and WDM nodes, plus basic configuration skills via CLI and GUI.
  • Talent for improvisation and proactive engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of professionals on a global team.
  • Flexibility to work outside of business hours, including weekends, and the ability to work night shift.
