Location: Ebbw Vale, NP23, 8FX
We're are looking for a Driver's Mate to play a key role assisting our drivers to deliver goods safely and on time.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE
- Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol / white goods onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
- Accompanying and assisting driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises
- Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
- Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
- Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
- Have previous experience of working with volume orders
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
- Can perform simple maths calculations
- Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
- Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limits
- Report any excesses, shortages or damage to supervisor in a timely manner
- Happy to do deliveries to customers as part of a two man delivery team or single handed as required
