Overview
In this role you will drive airfreight procurement and carrier management to optimize cost, capacity, and service performance within DHL Global Forwarding. You will collaborate with operations, stations, gateways, and airline partners to shape pricing, supplier performance, and consolidation plans. You will provide market insights, manage relationships, and support the UK network to meet commercial and operational goals. This is a chance to influence commercial outcomes in a global freight forwarding environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Execute the global procurement strategy linked to airline support
- Manage Best pricing through contract and/or spot processes
- Plan consolidations and protect capacity with Operations and stations
- Optimize consolidations and volume paid control
- Commercial management of all Gateway shipments, consolidations and some back-to-backs
- Define and manage internal rates
- Perform market and customer analysis to balance supply and demand
- Initiate local corrective action or escalate to Global
- Maintain and provide market information
- Offer guidance and support to the DGF UK network
- Manage carrier performance from internal reports
- Ensure compliance with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other requirements (e.g., anti-corruption)
- Contribute to the First Choice continuous improvement program
Key requirements
- Excellent commercial understanding of the Airfreight industry (5 yrs preferable)
