You will be part of the CB (Corporate Bank) Production Infrastructure team driving and supporting infrastructure improvements within the CB IT application space from both a reactive and proactive aspect. Objectives being a quick return to operation, however, we also follow up and ensure that similar events can never occur again.
You are an expert in the Oracle database environment, supporting multiple versions (Oracle 19 Exadata) and installation types. You have excellent troubleshooting skills and an ability to think independently to ensure solutions are achieved. You should be comfortable using your knowledge and experience to drive remediation and to ask the uncomfortable questions to get the right outcome. You are comfortable working within large groups, curious to raise questions when clarity is needed and able to ask for help where required. All underpinned by a desire to offer a first‑class service in your area of technical expertise to restore application stability for our business.

Key Responsibilities
- Representing and Leading Database engagement on technical bridges for major incidents for CB impacted applications.
- Managing a book of work for support requests and escalations.
- Troubleshooting and investigating unbounded requests, utilising your expertise to gain clarity and conclusion.
- Being a point of reference for non‑technical teams on the topic of Database usage, sharing your knowledge so that others within the team and beyond gain better understanding of the technology.
- Working across technical teams (Unix, Storage, Networks, etc.) to ensure resolution is achieved.
- Working and leading projects improving database hygiene, proactive database improvements and migrations.
Your Skills And Experience
- Oracle Database Administrator certified 11G, 12C, 19.
- Additional database knowledge in MongoDB, MSSQL Server, BigQuery, SQL Server for Cloud.
- Level 3 support experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment where solutions may come from multiple areas.
- Curious approach to problem‑solving with a desire for quality and avoiding repeat incidents.
- Ability to lead incident and problem calls from a database perspective and not afraid to speak opinions amongst senior stakeholders.
