Team / division overview
The DWS Alternatives business is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 150bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Alternative Credit, Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities) and Sustainable Investments. The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, as well as a growing UNHW investor group.
Alternatives Coverage is part of the DWS Client Coverage Division and are the Alternatives Specialists responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships on behalf of the Alternatives platform and will work closely with the Investment teams, Product Division and broader Global Client Coverage Division.
The Real Estate division of DWS which is a full-service Real Estate manager with EUR 51 billion in assets under management globally and EUR 23 billion in Europe that acquires and manages investments in individual assets or Real Estate portfolios on behalf of funds and separate accounts.
Role Details
As a Real Estate Business Development/Fundraising Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the delivery on the fundraise efforts globally for the EMEA Real Estate investment platform.
  • Leading the coordination and development of fund marketing plans for Real Estate, working closely with colleagues across generalist Sales, Investments and Product divisions globally.
  • Driving the analysis and related documentation associated to the sales strategy and capital raising across Real Estate strategies with respect to fund marketing, but also SMAs and co-investment syndication.
  • Developing strong productive relationships with internal distribution partners.
  • Leading the coordination for the delivery of specialist investment content associated to RFP and DDQ activity for Real Estate.
  • Working closely with the broader DWS generalist sales team, acting as the lead specialist sales support towards Real Estate strategies.
  • Working closely with teams such as Product Specialists, Research and Investment Managers to convert sales opportunities into AUM flows.
  • Taking ownership for broader Investor Relations activities, including LP Advisory Committee meetings and LP engagement, including Fund AGMs and annual Investor Conferences.

We are looking for:

  • Sound knowledge/experience within the Real Estate investment industry with exposure to topics such as valuations, underwriting and due diligence processes.
  • Experience within functions associated to Institutional fundraising within business lines such as Investor Relations, Client Relationship Management and/or Investment Marketing.
  • Experience of utilising Real Estate subject matter expertise in contributing to the production of specialist investment content for RFP and DDQ activity to support capital formation strategies.
  • Strong networking skills and proactive approach to working with colleagues across the business, but equally adept at working autonomously.
  • Highly structured approach with project management skills and strong analytical skills using Excel.
  • Ability to connect and build strong relationships with others, highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant financial field or with relevant industry experience.
