Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operating Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

You will be joining the EM Desk Strategists team, whose primary mandate is to automate and ensure the seamless operation of both linear and non-linear business functions. Within this role, you will encounter challenges associated with modeling EM-specific rates, foreign exchange (FX), and Credit products. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end deployment of automation solutions, spanning from Market data processing to Intraday risk calculations. The Core pricing library is developed in C++, complemented by Python-based components for integration. The Emerging Markets sector presents a compelling environment, offering comprehensive cross-asset exposure within a truly macro-driven landscape.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with Trading, Structuring, Technology and Operations to drive the build-out of the strategic analytics platforms
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the franchise – in terms of daily production of accurate and timely risk and P&L figures
  • Strong focus on business-driven opportunities, bringing innovative and quantitative ideas to solve complex problems for the desk
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment by working with members of the team to solve business problems
  • Responsible for dealing with multiple stakeholders, from traders to finance, from software developers to Market Risk

Skills And Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of python programming language. C++ hugely beneficial
  • Understanding of linear rates business & products; non-linear rates, FX and Credit
  • Strong quantitative, modelling, pricing and risk management skills, demonstrated within a financial services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner with various teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex requirements in an easily understandable and effective way
