Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the bank, its clients and stakeholders. We deliver high-quality, independent analysis and actively promote public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.

You will sit with the Fixed Income & Currencies Research team. The position offers an opportunity to work with high-profile individuals with significant internal and external reach. You will be tasked with providing clients, sales and trading with written research and face-to-face interaction on commodity markets, with a particular focus on precious metals and potentially base metals.

Your key responsibilities:

  • You will conduct research on the global precious metals and base metals markets, including supply and demand analysis, geopolitical impact, macroeconomic factors, and market structure shifts.
  • You will generate timely, high-quality, and actionable research reports and presentations for internal and external distribution, covering daily market commentary, trade ideas, thematic pieces, and comprehensive outlooks.
  • Identify key investment themes, trends, and opportunities within the precious and base metals.
  • Provide expert commentary and analysis on breaking news and market-moving events.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Deutsche Bank's Sales & Trading teams, providing market insights and marketing the research product.

Your skills and experience:

  • You will have proven experience of a sell-side or buy-side analyst covering the precious and/or base metals sector in an investment or corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of generating impactful research and accurate forecasts.
  • Extensive experience with financial modelling, data analysis, and statistical software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking to large groups and media and a deep understanding of global financial markets, macroeconomic principles, and geopolitical dynamics.
