The Operational Risk Management (ORM) department is hiring a Risk Manager for its New Business Office (NBO) team. You will be responsible for the cross-risk review and oversight of New Product Approvals (NPA), Transformation Risk Assessments (TRA), Change Execution Risk, and Initiatives New Business Approvals (NBA). NBO acts as the primary point of contact for Market Facing Functions and Due Diligence Reviewers participating in these processes. The role is the global lead for risk management and oversight of change execution risk across all divisions and regions. In addition, your role supports the daily run-the-bank processes of the UKI NPA portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Risk Manager with change execution risk governance experience, financial services product knowledge, and strong senior stakeholder management capability.
Your key responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and manage execution risks across major programmes, regulatory initiatives, and strategic change.
- Partner with Investment Sponsors and Transformation teams to ensure clear ownership, robust risk registers, and effective mitigations.
- Ensure appropriate scenario details and stress testing for higher risk delivery and go live activity.
- Provide executive-level engagement on Transformation Risk.
- Responsible for providing subject matter expertise on the risk governance of new business proposals, including determining whether NPA or NBA approval is required.
- Support and manage the UKI new business review pipeline, coordinating with 1LoD/2LoD partners, escalating issues as needed, and engaging auditors and regulators where required.
Your skills and experience:
- Extensive experience within financial services with understanding of financial products and change execution.
- Strong understanding of front-to-back infrastructure and controls within a Tier 1 Investment Bank.
- Strong attention to detail, information retention, and read-across capability.
- Degree in a relevant field (Sciences, Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics) or equivalent work experience.
- Strong critical thinking, active listening, and questioning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to simplify complex topics.
- Confident presenting to senior management.
- Adaptable and experienced in change projects.
- Assertive yet collaborative in stakeholder engagement, including providing constructive challenge.
