Position Overview

Location: London

Corporate Title: Associate

European Credit Structuring is a cross product structuring team, working alongside Deutsche Bank’s market leading Global Credit Financing & Solutions (GCFS) business. The team comprises product specific specialists from a broad range of professional backgrounds, working alongside traders to execute transactions of a particularly complex and structured nature. Members of the structuring team are aligned with GCFS business units, including Transportation, Infrastructure & Energy, Direct Lending, Asset Backed Securities and Credit Solutions. They are expected to participate in the origination, structuring and execution of non-standard transactions.

You will be expected to contribute to the full deal lifecycle, develop broad financing expertise and deep sector knowledge. Over the course of time, you will grow into a well-rounded credit structurer.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing complex deal structures from a legal, tax and regulatory perspective.
  • Drafting, negotiating and finalising high level terms, termsheets, commitment and mandate letters.
  • Supporting deal execution, liaising with clients and external advisors (including technical and legal advisors) to ensure a smooth and well organised transaction process including the negotiation and finalisation of transaction documentation.
  • Co-ordinating internal approvals and managing deal Q&A with internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying and developing solutions to eliminate or mitigate risks which arise at deal or industry level.

Your Skills And Experience

  • English law qualified lawyer, with commercial acumen or equivalent qualification and/or work experience.
  • Experience structuring and executing financing transactions, including Infrastructure and/or Project Financings.
  • Proven execution skills, complex deal understanding and structuring capabilities.
  • Strong analytical approach combined with creative problem-solving abilities, high levels of initiative and ingenuity, high pro-activity levels and drive.
  • Effective organisational skills - the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to convey ideas effectively.
