Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation, investment recommendations and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the bank, its clients and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality analysis and promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.
You will sit with the bank’s highly regarded Emerging Markets CEEMEA Research Team, with a special focus on Frontier local markets. You will be providing insights to institutional investors and corporates on the macroeconomic backdrop and implications for currencies and bonds in emerging markets and the exciting and rapidly growing Frontier universe, including actionable trade ideas and in-depth top down and bottom-up research, and compelling presentations for both internal and external stakeholders. The role will also involve working collaboratively with colleagues in core emerging markets, who are among the top ranked analysts in surveys such as Institutional Investor, and FX, where Deutsche Bank was recently awarded the World’s Best FX Bank Euromoney award.

Your key responsibilities:
- Responsible for research and authorship of publications including trade ideas and thematic topics on emerging markets, with an especial focus on CEEMEA and Frontier Markets.
- Track and analyse key economic indicators, political events and policy changes, assessing their impact on financial markets.
- Responsible for developing models and monitors for FX and bonds (to include, but not limited to, valuation, flows, debt sustainability).
- Engaging with and presenting to clients and internal stakeholders, including the opportunity to travel.
Your skills and experience:
- Enthusiastic about global markets and macro, especially in emerging markets, ideally with relevant experience in frontier markets.
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in economics/finance or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Work experience with a macro analysis background, with a preference for candidates with experience in emerging market fixed income/fx.
- Quantitative skills, such as econometrics, finance and accounting. Proficiency in Excel. Experience with econometric software (e.g. EViews, Stat, R) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and written ability, and willingness to research a topic in which you have little experience or knowledge.
- A track record of idea origination and generation and an ability to convert that into commercial research for clients.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills which enable you to market your ideas to the internal and external client base.
