Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank. Group Tax’s responsibility is to manage Deutsche Bank’s worldwide tax position, with responsibilities ranging from advising on the tax consequences of transactions, ensuring compliance with local tax obligations, producing tax data for financial and other reporting purposes, handling tax audits and disputes, to working with industry and governmental bodies on the development of legislation and practice.

Your key responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating the Value Added Tax (VAT) profile of target jurisdictions with a view of identifying gaps in the processes and set up from an indirect tax perspective, liaise with stakeholders on ensuring the Indirect Tax requirements are fully mapped and understood.
- Support local Group Tax and provide necessary guidance to ensure a successful roll-out of Daily Close programme.
- Assist in evaluating and ensuring that a post-implementation governance structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities are identified and agreed.
- Participate in discussions including evaluating any VAT reporting requirements are automated to reduce additional risks associated with manual calculation of any pro-rata calculations.
- Assist in coordinating system changes in terms of how revenue is recorded and booked to ensure all aspects of Indirect Tax reporting requirements are fulfilled.
- Help devise the calculation tool with the aim of automating the process to reduce complexity and help streamline the calculation and forecasting process in terms of the impact of indirect tax on financial performance.
Your skills and experience:
- Experience of tax advisory within the tax department of a professional services firm or equivalent experience within the advisory team of an in-house tax function.
- Good knowledge of United Kingdom (UK)/Europe VAT. Banking tax experience and some experience of tax systems outside UK/Germany is desirable but not a requirement.
- Experience assisting/leading in designing, building and implementing of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) general ledger applications.
- Comfortable handling escalations, communicating and upholding Group Tax requirements through engagement with senior stakeholders.
- Able to summarise complex technical subject matter, with clear conclusions and recommendations, for a non-technical audience.
