As a Market Risk Manager steering global coverage for the Credit Trading and syndication businesses, you will manage a team whose mission is to achieve effective oversight of one of the largest of Deutsche Bank’s businesses. You will partner with colleagues across the regions to ensure consistency of approach to understand all the possible drivers of Profit and Loss. Working directly on the trading floor to guide a very dynamic and cooperative team, your decisions will ensure we can successfully support business growth within the bank’s Risk Appetite.

Your key responsibilities:
- Oversee the Credit Trading businesses, including the proactive engagement and partnering with senior management of these businesses, driving enhancements to risk culture, controls, and risk appetite; engage with the Front Office (FO) desk heads and senior traders with respect to exposures, new business and market activity.
- Manage a team of experienced market risk managers and analysts, with an emphasis on development and coaching, across geographic regions and a hybrid working model; partnering with other Risk management functions such as Market Risk Analysis and Control, Methodology, Portfolio, Market Data and associated Working Groups and Committees.
- Daily monitoring of risk, stress and Value-at-Risk (VaR) exposures against limits, driving both the articulation and adherence to risk appetite.
- Partake on syndication underwritings aside CRM running stress tests, comparable deal pricing review and market analysis. Ensure risk completeness and accuracy, ensuring the limit framework and appetite is commensurate with infrastructure.
- Engage regularly with management and regulators as to the status of the portfolio.
Your skills and experience:
- Solid experience in market risk management, either as a second line (market risk) or as a first line (trading, structuring) of defence.
- Deep understanding of the full suite of credit products, across corporate bonds and loans, securitised products, credit derivatives and structured lending.
- Proven experience in markets-related roles, with great understanding of the impact of financial and economic events on markets and market risk positions.
- Strong technical and analysis skills (Excel, VBA, Python or similar and statistical methods).
- A leader who can build high-performing teams, and establish strong partnerships and working relationships with senior managers in a trading business.
- An excellent written and verbal communicator, able to concisely explain complicated concepts with focus on the ‘so what’ questions.
