Position Overview

Trade Finance and Lending technology architecture strategy has just begun a front-to-back modernisation, moving away from manual, ops heavy monolithic architecture to a cloud compliant, API driven, component and re-usable technology stacks.
You will be joining our development pod as a Java Developer. You and your team will be focused on delivering key applications for the business. The software components and architecture which you will be contributing towards, will create the foundations to build and extend the wider trade finance
application landscape, as well as making Trade Finance and Lending a flag ship implementation within Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Banking business.
You will be closely working with team comprising of engineers, Lead, functional analysts, and Product owner. The team is responsible for developing and implementing micro-services based architecture including Front end and back-end Application development, enhancements and integrating with other applications with the bank.
You will be expected to understand the functional and non-functional requirements, existing ecosystem, challenges and bridge the gaps by designing and implementing solution.
An Associate Engineer is responsible for developing and delivering elements of engineering solutions to accomplish business goals. Awareness is expected of the important engineering principles of the Bank. Root cause analysis skills are developed through addressing enhancements and fixes to products. They attempt to build reliability and resiliency into solutions through early testing, peer
reviews and automating the delivery lifecycle.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Developing source code, including descriptions in line with detailed requirements, then verifying the developed source code by reviews in addition to measuring and analysing code for quality
- Integrating software components including unit and integrated software testing according to the test plan
- Ensuring that all code changes, end up in configuration and deployment tools
- Providing Release Deployments on non-Production Management controlled environments
- Providing Level 3 support for technical components and contributing to problem and root cause analysis
- Collaborating with Functional Analysts and technical Specialists to complete work
Your Skills And Experience
- Prior experience with development technologies and working with Agile software methodologies
- Ability to develop reusable and performant Java libraries aligned with good architectural and design patterns
- Sound knowledge of Java 8 or above, Spring, Rest APIs and Microservices
- Experience with Test / Behavior Driven Development and Continuous Delivery approaches
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with product owners, business / functional analysts and business stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree(or international equivalent) or equivalent work experience, a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering or an IT-related discipline would be beneficial
