The Database Engineer will support the ongoing development of the relational database platforms and provide evaluation, certification and packaging of relational database tools as well as developing and maintaining platform automation scripts and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing automation platforms and modules to support database operational support teams.
- Analyzing incidents for root cause and updating platforms and automation to eliminate problems.
- Developing platform automation tooling to eliminate "toil."
- Providing support to application development teams in product and performance selection.
- L3 product database support for Exadata Cloud and Oracle Databases.
- Designing database model.
Key Skills & Experience
- Preferably Oracle Certified Master (OCM), Expert in Exadata infrastructure, Expert in Exadata Cloud @ Customer and Autonomous.
- Expert in Oracle performance tuning, PL/SQL development, Bash / KSH shell scripting, Python 2.7 / 3.x development, Ansible playbook development, database scripting and automation technologies.
- Knowledge of Java 7/8 development skills, Oracle APEX, Git / Stash, JIRA.
- Strong experience with Oracle 11g R2/12c/18/19C, RAC, ASM, Dataguard including build, administration, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Strong experience in backup, recovery (including flashback technologies) and migration using RMAN, data pump and export/import processes.
- Knowledge of network and firewall, enterprise storage concepts & ITIL framework.
