Deutsche Bank’s Anti‑Financial Crime (AFC) function supports the Bank’s global operations by ensuring compliance with AML, sanctions, fraud prevention and related regulatory frameworks. The BLAFC team delivers financial‑crime advice across Corporate and Investment Banking, including Fixed Income & Currencies, Trust & Securities Services, and other product areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BLAFC CB/IB UK Leads in managing the regional function and act as an additional senior point of escalation.
- Provide additional oversight and global coordination for financial‑crime matters related to Fixed Income & Currencies (FIC) and Trust & Securities Services (TSS).
- Manage BLAFC submissions to senior business governance forums for IB/CB products and coverage.
- Guide the business on strategic product, client and other initiatives within the UK and globally.
- Provide Second Line of Defence (2LOD) oversight, checking and challenging the design and operational effectiveness of First Line of Defence (1LOD) financial‑crime controls.
- Act as a senior point of escalation for CB & IB UK and global activities, establishing efficient communication with stakeholders and AFC partners.
- Serve as BLAFC subject‑matter expert for core 2LOD risk‑assessment and management processes (e.g., Financial‑Crime Risk Assessment, Client Risk Rating).
Qualifications
- Extensive AFC business‑advisory experience across Corporate and Investment Banking products.
- Prior experience with FinTech and digital assets is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of AML regulation, regulatory expectations and the AFC landscape in Germany, the UK and the United States.
- Ability to analyse, rationalise, recommend and drive 2LOD engagement on complex, multi‑product, multi‑regional AFC matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to work with colleagues across divisions and seniority.
