We are looking for a passionate Messaging Engineer to join our dynamic Messaging Engineering Team. Our mission is to design, build, and offer simple, automated, and highly secure self-service messaging platforms that enable application teams across the bank to connect and share data seamlessly. In this role, you will help bridge the gap between traditional enterprise messaging and modern public cloud technologies. You will work closely with a collaborative team to deploy robust hybrid solutions using both on-premise infrastructure and modern public cloud ecosystems.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineering peers to build, configure, and maintain secure, enterprise-grade messaging solutions.
  • Develop automated infrastructure-as-code pipelines to deploy messaging services across both on-premises environments and public cloud platforms.
  • Ensure the operational stability, security, and performance of our messaging backbones, actively participating in capacity planning and system optimizations.
  • Cooperate with internal application teams to assist them in adopting standard messaging patterns, ensuring compliance with security and architectural guidelines.
  • Work closely with various vendors and internal teams, to ensure compliance with technology roadmap and security requirements on application, infrastructure, and operating system level.

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ, including installation, configuration, object creation, and setting up robust channel security configurations.
  • Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, specifically focusing on networking, storage, and Pub/Sub (Publish/Subscribe) systems, managed via Terraform.
  • Good development experience in an Object-Oriented programming language, specifically utilizing Java and the Spring / Spring Boot frameworks for backend services.
  • Practical experience writing Ansible playbooks to automate configuration management and deployments.
  • Familiarity with Solace appliance configuration, Virtual Private Network (VPN) setups, and security protocols.
  • Basic exposure to Artificial Intelligence concepts, such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) server configuration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
