You will be joining the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Technology department as part of a multi‑skilled agile team dedicated to rolling out sophisticated automation that drives Deutsche Bank's critical control infrastructure. The team develops high quality tools whilst working hard to foster a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence. You will make a crucial contribution to the efforts to accelerate the delivery of changes required by the bank's committed key deliverables in this area, which are frequently driven by tight regulatory requirements. As well as software development tasks, you will have the opportunity to analyse large complex datasets and develop an understanding of the business processes and competing priorities.
Your key responsibilities:
- Work with developers and architects to design and implement scalable, high‑performance data processing pipelines that support Anti‑Financial Crime detection and control requirements.
- Use analytical and querying techniques to understand datasets, diagnose issues, and improve application performance and adherence to data quality controls.
- Apply both established and innovative engineering approaches across a broad range of technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, business and modelling teams to clarify requirements and support delivery.
- Follow bank standard software development life cycle, architecture, security and data governance processes, contributing to the creation of compliant, well‑documented solutions.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and technical design discussions.
Your skills and experience:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues.
- High proficiency with programming languages such as Python or Java and SQL.
- Exposure to data management concepts, ideally including Big Data technologies such as BigQuery, Hadoop or Spark.
- Interest in or awareness of Anti‑Financial Crime challenges or the wider payments industry (advantageous but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders at various levels.
