About the programme:

The Deutsche Bank 9 week Summer Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll quickly gain the confidence to take on real projects by learning first‑hand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. You’ll feel supported by colleagues from across our business and start to develop your professional network.

About the division:

Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets business provides the full range of advisory and financing products and services of a leading global investment bank. Our clients include large-cap and mid-cap corporates, financial institutions, governments, government agencies and financial sponsors.

About the role:

Our interns in the UK Coverage Team are given the opportunity to learn about our business from different viewpoints, giving you a career advantage.

Working on our day-to-day business as well as on special projects, you will contribute to the innovation of new ideas to help our customers achieve their financial goals.

You will gain experience in different areas of our business and discover our market-leading solutions firsthand.

Your day-to-day tasks may vary depending on your business area, but intern responsibilities may include:

  • Performing in-depth company and industry research and analysis
  • Supporting the execution of client advisory and financial transactions across public and private M&A, IPOs, Equity Capital Markets and private fundraising, while collaborating with local and international teams
  • Preparing marketing materials and transaction documentation, including but not limited to confidential memoranda, board papers, pitch books, corporate profiles, and analytical materials
  • Building and maintaining financial models, valuations and forecasts to support strategic advice and transaction execution
  • Supporting public clients through market analysis, preparation of investor materials and supporting their interactions with investors, developing a strong understanding of how mid and large-cap companies enhance shareholder value, access capital and pursue strategic opportunities
  • Regular engagement with listed corporate clients through Deutsche Bank's Corporate Broking franchise by providing market insights, shareholder analysis and preparation of investor materials
  • Working closely with Equity Research, Equity Sales and IBCM Product teams to support public clients, originate opportunities and contribute to IPO and broader capital markets mandates
  • Developing a broad understanding of Deutsche Bank's product suite and how the wider platform can be leveraged to deliver integrated solutions for clients

Generalist Broking & Advisory, Consumer, Business Services and Industrials, Building Property and Real Estate (BPRE), Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT), Investment Companies

What we look for:

We recruit students and graduates who have:

  • a strong foundational knowledge and interest in Corporate Finance and Accounting
  • confident, constructive and effective communication skills
  • strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and contribute to day-to-day client relationships
  • an ability to solve problems, organize tasks and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines
  • strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • an interest and ability to work collaboratively across the Deutsche Bank platform and global teams in support of our clients
  • A financial background isn’t required. Our comprehensive training programmes will provide you technical skills you’ll need to build a career with us.

To be eligible for the 2027 Internship Programme you must:

  • Complete your studies (all final exams, coursework and have no outstanding requirements for graduation) between 1st August 2027 and 31st July 2028.
  • Be able to start full time work in July 2028, subject to local working legislation and visa requirements.
  • Return to full-time study after the 2027 internship. If you do not return to full-time study you will not be eligible for the 2028 Graduate Programme.
  • Have achieved at least 3 A-Levels at grade AAA, with a minimum grade A in A Level Maths or the UCAS points equivalent (if you studied outside the UK, please research the grade equivalents before proceeding)
  • You should also be on track for a 2:1 or First (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree.
  • Possess no more than 12 months full‑time, relevant work experience.
  • For some placements in IBCM, in addition to English, fluency in a European language is desirable.
