The role is focused on managing and improving availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, automation, emergency response and capacity planning for centralized platforms including Control-M, Automic, Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Workflows and Scheduler.

The engineer bridges development and operations, designing and developing new features, expanding and supporting existing ones, and learning new technologies to enhance the organization’s offerings.

Key responsibilities include

  • Demonstrate expertise in Airflow, Google Cloud Platform, Control-M or Automic and REST‑based API orchestration.
  • Contribute to the integration of Apache Airflow into the IT landscape, driving adoption technically and organizationally.
  • Design and implement concepts for improving or replacing existing processes from Control‑M or Automic towards Airflow or Google Composer, including integration, configuration, upgrade, maintenance and introduction of new capabilities.
  • Develop solutions, identify automation opportunities and lead development activities in a self‑reliant manner.
  • Apply strong Airflow and workload‑automation architecture experience.

Skills and experience required

  • Experience with workload‑automation tooling, preferably Apache Airflow, Control‑M and/or Google Cloud Composer using standard agile SDLC techniques.
  • Knowledge of developing guidelines for Airflow clusters and DAGs, performance tuning, task implementation, and data‑pipeline development for onboarding and change management.
  • Installation, configuration and monitoring of Airflow clusters; strong Python programming skills.
  • Understanding of Airflow REST services and integration within the platform ecosystem.
  • Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services: Terraform, Cloud Composer, Big Query, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Dataproc, Google Transfer Service and Postgres.
  • Proficiency with API integration and orchestration, Service NOW integration and Ansible YAML development.
