The role involves hands‑on development (SQL, Python, Looker), bridging business analysis, technology, and data science to pioneer rapid‑turnaround quantitative solutions that enhance efficiency, mitigate risk, and uncover new opportunities across global operations.
We are committed to providing an environment with your development and wellbeing at its centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, analyze, and translate complex data patterns into actionable insights that influence business decisions within IBO.
- Apply a rigorous, structured approach to problem‑solving, leveraging sophisticated techniques to navigate and interpret large‑scale datasets spanning hundreds of millions of records.
- Partner with business, technology, and product teams to deconstruct business questions, propose structured problem‑solving approaches, and define clear success metrics.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable workflows to analyze trade & workflow datasets to pinpoint business problems, emerging trends, inefficiencies, anomalies, and behavioral shifts, quantifying their impact.
- Articulate complex analytical insights through compelling narratives, intuitive dashboards, and impactful visualizations tailored for diverse financial‑market stakeholders.
- Explore and support the evolution of reactive products into preventative AI/ML tooling when patterns suggest actionable interventions, contributing to the bank’s digital transformation journey.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable track record in data analytics, manipulating and interpreting massive datasets, and proficient in at least one programming language or BI tool (e. g., Python, SQL, Alteryx).
- Experience and business knowledge within Investment Banking Operations, with a strong interest in financial markets, trade‑lifecycle optimisation, market structures, and client behaviours.
- Structured and logical problem‑solving skills, with exceptional data literacy and critical‑thinking abilities to communicate nuanced business issues and drive actionable solutions.
- Excellent communicator and storyteller, capable of translating complex findings into clear, concise, and impactful business narratives and designing effective dashboards using Looker, Tableau, or Python plotting libraries.
- Initiative and collaborative spirit, contributing effectively to data‑led initiatives that utilise AI tooling.
- Ideally proficient in AI/ML tools and cloud‑based data platforms, with hands‑on experience in Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, Vertex AI).
Benefits
- Hybrid working model allowing eligible employees to work remotely part of the time.
- Competitive salary and non‑contributory pension.
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days.
- Life Assurance and private healthcare for you and your family.
- Flexible benefits including retail discounts, a Bike4Work scheme, and gym benefits.
- Opportunity to support a wide‑ranging CSR programme and 2 days’ volunteering leave per year.
