The Chief Data Office (CDO) within Technology Data and Innovation (TDI) is responsible for establishing and enforcing data principles, policies and standards covering data management and all data lifecycle disciplines (data residency & access, records management, archiving, data disposal).

The Data Analyst will be part of the CDO Data Governance function and play a crucial role in supporting CDO’s efforts to embed robust data governance principles and practices into New Initiative Processes such as New Product Approval (NPA), Change Governance Function (CGF) for Enterprise Wise Priorities (aka Key Deliverables) & non-Key Deliverables, and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM). This role is integral in supporting the function in meeting regulatory expectations, including compliance with the Data Management Policy and Core Data Management Standards as well as supporting key regulatory data remediation programs for the Bank (Enterprise Data Management Key Deliverable).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the CDO Data Governance function in assessing divisions compliance with the Core Data Management Standards (CDMS) through the review and assessment of new initiatives requests including Key Deliverables, New Product Approvals.
  • Where gaps are identified, support the CDO Data Governance function team by documenting the results, reporting outcomes, tracking the observations to completion and assess its resolution in line with CDMS.
  • Collaborating within CDO and cross-functional teams like business units, 2LoD, technology teams and data stakeholders to ensure that data-related risks are identified, mitigated, and managed effectively.
  • Assisting in monitoring and reporting on the status of data governance functions and determining new initiatives governance implications on Data and Records management Policy, Procedure and Core Data Management Standards (CDMS).
  • Supporting the implementation of adequate data quality controls within the divisions and contributing to process enhancements towards existing data governance processes and tools relevant to new initiatives.

Your skills and experience should include:

  • Expertise in data governance, data risk, and enterprise data management including data ownership, data quality, lineage, metadata, controls, and policy adherence within a large banking environment.
  • Experience performing independent review and challenge of new product proposals, strategic initiatives, or change programs, with the ability to assess data management risk and capture evidence to support approval, conditional approval, or rejection decisions.
  • Business line and domain-specific knowledge of products and booking processes, including how products are originated, structured, booked, processed, and reported, and how those activities create upstream and downstream data risks.
  • Understanding of end-to-end data flows across front, middle, and back-office processes, including source system capture, interfaces, handoffs, reconciliations, manual adjustments, and dependencies impacting risk, finance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience working across business, product, operations, technology, risk, finance, compliance, and control functions, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical, documentation, and decision-making skills, including the ability to clearly communicate, approval conditions, escalation materials, and document defensible governance records in a highly regulated environment.
