You will be joining the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Technology department as part of a multi-skilled agile team dedicated to rolling out sophisticated automation that drives Deutsche Bank’s critical control infrastructure. The team develops high quality tools whilst working hard to foster a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence. You will make a crucial contribution to the efforts to accelerate the delivery of changes required by the bank’s committed key deliverables in this area, which are frequently driven by tight regulatory requirements. You will run the framework for the team to operate within the broader department’s Agile methodology. As programmes progress through their development cycle there will also be Story Points for you to take through to production based on your skill set and experience in software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate iterative delivery by acting as Scrum Master and assisting the team through its adoption of agile best practice
- Participate in broader planning process to identify thematic tasks that should be promoted in the backlog
- Contribute small‑scale code and test automation to support the team in delivering working software whilst working within the agile framework
- Track progress and log the risks identified by the team
- Work with the Programme Manager to ensure transparent reporting
- Collaborate with team members to refine the backlog and so track outstanding items
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an Agile Practitioner or Scrum Master, ideally in a technology delivery environment
- Understanding of modern development practices (CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps)
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks and associated tools (eg. Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Hands‑on programming ability in languages (eg. Python, Java or SQL)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders to balance expectation management with progress reporting
- Understanding of Anti‑Financial Crime challenges and the broader Payments industry would be an advantage
