Data Business Analyst (Fixed Income)

We are looking for a Data Business Analyst (Fixed Income) for a 6 month contract based in the bank’s London office on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, you will sit within the FIC Sales Technology team and offer strong exposure across front‑office sales workflows, systems and data.

The initial focus is hands‑on: analysing front‑office sales data, understanding data flows and how datasets are joined across systems, and supporting the identification and resolution of issues impacting FIC sales teams.

In parallel, the role has a strong business analysis component.

The Business/Data Analyst will work directly with front office stakeholders to capture requirements, understand current workflows and system usage and translate business needs into clear, structured outputs for the technology organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Analysis of FIC sales datasets, identify data quality issues, trace lineage, and articulate root causes and business impact.
  • Engagement with front office stakeholders to capture requirements, document current processes, and define clear business needs across systems and workflows.
  • Converting business requirements into structured artefacts (e. g. functional specs, data requirements, process flows) to support delivery by engineering teams.
  • Translating analysis into clear recommendations and working with stakeholders to prioritise and address data and system issues.
  • Partnering with engineers and product owners to support implementation of improvements to systems, data pipelines, and reporting.
  • Providing input into data models and system changes based on analysis and business requirements.
  • Ensuring data is structured, understood, and fit for purpose, with visibility into quality and limitations.
  • Working with front office, technology and data teams to investigate issues and deliver changes impacting sales workflows.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong track record as a Business/Data Analyst, combining hands‑on data analysis with structured business analysis and requirement capture.
  • Experience working with solid Fixed Income & Currencies domain knowledge and understanding of sales workflows.
  • Proven ability to gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear deliverables for technology teams (e. g. functional specifications, user stories, data mappings, process flows).
  • Good understanding of data architecture and data‑modelling concepts, with experience querying and analysing large datasets using technologies such as Oracle, KDB, or Click House; familiarity with Python or similar tools is beneficial.
  • Comfort working independently across both business and technology stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ambiguous problem statements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain data issues, business requirements, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Front‑office investment‑banking systems and data experience (desirable).
  • Awareness of AI and Machine Learning concepts, particularly the importance of data quality, structure, and lineage (desirable).
  • Other employment details

This client will only accept workers operating via a PAYE engagement model.

They embrace a culture reflecting a variety of perspectives, insights and backgrounds to drive innovation.
