Overview
DB Cargo UK is an ambitious rail logistics provider committed to shifting freight from road to rail, protecting the climate and boosting the economy. This role is for Mobile Operatives, who travel across sites to prepare, dispatch, and manage trains safely and efficiently for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Train preparation – shunting and marshalling.
- Train dispatch.
- Problem solving on the ground.
- Railway yard management.
- Ensuring safe operations of trains.
Qualifications
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Located within a 60‑minute commute of the hub location.
- Highly motivated and committed to the role.
- Flexible approach to shift working, including unsociable hours.
- Experience of teamwork and lone working.
- Ability to work to the instruction of the person in charge.
- Strong focus on safety.
Benefits
- 5‑week residential training programme.
- Starting salary: £30,412 per annum plus shift allowance of £3,936 per annum.
