Overview

Facilities Manager (North) at Deutsche Bahn (DB Cargo UK) is recruited to support the North region, including the three core maintenance sites in Stoke, Crewe and Toton (Nottingham). This is a regional role with hybrid working and an expectation to be on site 3-4 days per week.

DB Cargo UK is recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join the Property department and work with in-house teams and external contractors to ensure efficient facilities management across operational and tenanted properties. The role supports the Facilities Management Strategy to optimise costs and improve service delivery. You will manage budgets, oversee asset management, and monitor KPIs and SLAs to drive performance and service excellence.

This is a regional role with hybrid working and on-site requirements as described above.

What you\’ll be doing

  • Lead the delivery of facilities management across the region, covering approximately 30 properties, and oversee estate improvement projects to be delivered safely within live operational environments.
  • Coordinate the delivery of a full range of facilities management services in collaboration with contract partners.
  • Manage budgets, track expenditure, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure services are delivered in a cost-efficient and high-quality manner.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations, fostering a safe working environment and making strategic decisions that drive operational excellence and long-term value.

What we\’re looking for

  • Experience in property asset management, maintenance planning and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in budget management with a focus on cost control and financial planning.
  • A trade qualification (e.g., plumbing, gas, electrical or fabric) is required.
  • Full driving license and willingness/ability to travel as required.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety qualification is desirable.
