DB Cargo UK is on an ambitious journey to become Europe’s leading rail logistics provider with a long‑term plan to shift traffic from roads, protect our climate and grow the economy. To achieve this, we are looking for a Terminals Supervisor to join our Terminals Team based in and around the Warrington area.
Rail is one of the safest and most eco‑friendly means of transport with one single freight train able to carry enough materials to build 30 houses. Our services replace the equivalent of over 22 million truck movements every year, saving 7 million tonnes of carbon emissions! As an Operations Supervisor you’ll be directly contributing to reducing carbon emissions and shifting traffic from roads to the rail.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a responsible, committed and flexible individual. The successful applicant will be required to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, to ensure the safe, efficient and punctual delivery of DB Cargo (UK) business needs. The successful candidate will also be required to support the Terminal Manager.
- To ensure that the Safety Management System is adhered to at all times by the Terminal Staff, contractors and all visitors.
- To actively promote ongoing improvement to the Safety Management System.
- To assist in the control operational costs and minimise expenditure wherever possible.
- To assist in the increased profitability by efficiency savings wherever possible.
- To assist the Terminal Manager in seeking and developing new business or revenue streams.
- To assist the Terminal manager in the management of the Terminal team.
- Competency certification as required for the task / role being performed.
- DBC Standard Operating Instructions.
- Personal Track Safety Card – if required.
- Safety Critical Identification Card – if required.
- Compliance with the Rule Book (GE/RT8000).
- Understand and operate the DB Cargo management systems to deliver the business processes in place.
- Undertake the actions required as ANUBIS ‘Super User’ for the location as required by business need.
- Terminal Operation.
- Microsoft Office applications.
