DeterTech is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their Design Engineering team. This role will involve increasing responsibility for designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions. Will work independently on projects while collaborating with teams to ensure quality and efficiency. This is a hands‑on Electronics Engineer position focused on embedded hardware design, PCB development and system integration, working closely with firmware and mechanical teams. This is a hybrid (3 days onsite) role, within commuting distance to Telford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Manage assigned project tasks independently and meet deadlines.
  • Design and test analogue and digital electronic circuits.
  • Bench prototyping and validation of electronic designs and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise performance and efficiency.
  • Provide technical input and contribute to problem‑solving activities.
  • Ensure products comply with EMC and relevant safety standards, including support for testing and certification processes.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Experience working within structured product development processes and design validation methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics circuit design.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
  • Good understanding of microcontroller, embedded systems and electronic components.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tool.
  • Experience with communication protocols, including SPI, I2C and UART.
  • Understanding of EMC design considerations.
  • Knowledge of RS-232, USB, and BLE communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer, including multi‑layer PCB design, component library management, and design rule checks (DRC).
  • Experience with camera‑based applications / computer vision and other sensing technologies.
