About the role: This service in Newport Town Centre is the home of 5 individuals with learning disabilities. As a Support Worker you will actively support and assist with daily living skills and activities of choice to enable each individual to be as independent in these areas as possible.
Key Duties will Involve:
- Providing person-centered support for daily needs, including the possibility of personal care (showering, bathing, brushing teeth, continence care, etc.).
- Supporting dietary needs and food preparation.
- Offering emotional support.
- Completing cleaning and administrative tasks.
- Administering and managing medication.
- Monitoring individual medication stocks and finances.
- Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices.
Skills and Experience Needed:
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

Pay and Pensions:
£24,531 FTE (£12.75 per hour) Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week. Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am Enhanced DBS which we will pay for Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or, Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service. 3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership Saving scheme with competitive interest rate Give As You Earn scheme for tax efficient charity donations From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.
