About the role

This isn’t just about managing homes – it’s about people, places, and creating thriving communities. You’ll take the lead of working in one of our area neighbourhoods, building meaningful relationships with customers and making a real difference on the ground.

As a Neighbourhood Housing Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a patch of approximately 400 homes. We want you to get to know our customers, so that if we do need to have some difficult conversations it’s easier to have them with someone they know and trust. We are a housing provider who targets zero evictions and you will have a key role to play in delivering this commitment. You will be connected to our customers, you’ll know at an early stage if things are going wrong and you can call upon support of our community development and housing support services to assist our customers to continue to live safely in their homes.

We have various roles across South East Wales becoming available. Further details on the exact locations and areas will be discussed at interview. Our offices are based in Cardiff and Newport, and your base will be dependant on your home address. The role is agile working, with the option of a 9 day fortnight. You will be working within the community, from home or in the office.

Skills and Experience Needed

  • You’ll bring solid experience in tenancy and estate management, working collaboratively to deliver flexible, customer‑focused services.
  • You’ll be confident building strong relationships with external agencies and elected representatives and committed to putting customers first.
  • You will have a strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016.
  • Experience of managing anti-social behaviour and safeguarding cases, the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound, proportionate decisions as well as being confident in the use of digital systems and accurate record keeping.
  • A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential, along with a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to engage with the communities this role covers.
  • You’ll also have a proven track record of delivering great service and contributing to continuous improvement.

Pay and Pensions

£38,648 per annum

  • Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or, Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
