About the role: We are recruiting for 2 services (bungalows) in close proximity in Ystrad Mynach. In one bungalow, we support four independent and active ladies (30s–70s) who love engaging in their local community, whether it's cinema trips, walks in the park, coffee outings, or attending clubs. Each has their own Motability vehicle and enjoys a mixture of solo and shared activities. While they're quite independent, they value support with medication, meal prep, and day-to-day tasks like housekeeping and health & safety checks. Strong family connections are a key part of their lives. In the other bungalow, we support one lady and one gentleman (both 60s–70s). The gentleman is a music and film enthusiast who enjoys community outings, charity shopping, and weekend visits with his sister.

You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:

  • Medication administration
  • Cooking skills and other household skills
  • Some personal care needs
  • Accessing the community and supporting to local groups
  • Supporting with individuals' hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking
  • Being a team player and having good communication skills
  • Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard
  • Supporting individuals to budget finances
  • Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing
  • Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence
  • Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role
  • Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties
  • Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working
  • Supporting Individuals with their individual needs

Skills and Experience Needed: A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

  • IT, Literacy & numeracy skills
  • Experience working as part of a team and customer service skills

Pay and Pensions: £24,531 (£12.75 per hour) Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week. Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am. Enhanced DBS which we will pay for. Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed. Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or, Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service. 3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership. Saving scheme with competitive interest rate. Give As You Earn scheme for tax efficient charity donations. From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.

Time off and Flexibility: 26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days' annual leave. Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks. Paternity Leave: 3 weeks.

Wellbeing: Sick Pay, rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 years. Eyecare: Up to £100 reimbursement towards eye tests and glasses. Free counselling, coaching, wellbeing team, and OH service to all colleagues. Annual Health Check. Health Cash Plan.

Getting Around: Mileage paid at 45p plus 5P per passenger per mile. Cycle to Work Scheme.
