Ty Llwynderw is an extra care service comprising of 25 apartments for over 65, with care and support needs that blends the freedom of independent living with the reassurance of on-site care providers with a package of care suited to their needs. Alongside this, we have a residential suite which we provide 3 meals a day for our residents who have cognitive impairment. This is more than just a kitchen—it’s a vibrant community where your passion for food can truly make a difference.
As Food Service Assistant, you’ll support our busy catering team. In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve food, lay and clear tables, and ensure the kitchen remains clean, tidy, and safe for our tenants.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Strong communication skills - Greeting tenants warmly and explaining menu options clearly.
- Basic understanding of dietary and nutritional needs - Following simple guidelines for vegetarian or allergen-friendly meals.
- Hands-on approach to kitchen and dining duties - Setting up tables, washing dishes, and keeping everything spotless is key for this role.
- Team player with a flexible attitude - Jumping in to help with plating up, or tidying when things get busy.
- Clean and safe – You’ll need to take pride in keeping the kitchen spotless and understand the importance of Health & Safety and Food Safety.

- Annual salary of £24,563
