About the Company

Our client is an established and leading independent manufacturer of speciality products for a wide variety of industrial applications. The business is investing in its current production and engineering capabilities and is currently looking to appoint a number of Mechanical Technicians. The successful candidate will support the Engineering team in developing the site maintenance and asset management system. You must be a hands-on Engineer, with a great attitude for maintenance, health & safety, and production.

Requirements

  • City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably in a top-tier COMAH plant or speciality chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control procedures, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • DSEAR/COMPEX
  • Knowledge of UK Legislation (particularly CDM, HSWA)

Responsibilities

  • Proactive scheduled maintenance to minimise reactive maintenance, undertaking maintenance projects from initiation to completion, overseen by your supervisor.
  • Escalate problems quickly to the Engineering Manager.
  • Work throughout project & asset lifecycle from front end, detailed design and system verification, validation and maintenance.
  • Request the correct documentation and data required for the site maintenance system and compliance to site standards.
  • You may be responsible for overseeing contractors on site.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
