We are seeking an experienced Freight Account Manager to join a dynamic, industry‑leading transport business in a new role, based in Manchester. As a Freight Account Manager, you’ll work on interesting responsibilities like managing and growing existing accounts by bringing forth new services, expanding existing services offered, with a focus on increasing efficiency, adding value, maximizing profitability through the account’s supply chain. In this role, you will work on‑site with your peers five days a week, fostering creativity and producing impactful results through face‑to‑face interactions. Responsibilities
- Maintaining and growing the existing customer portfolio
- Consistently executing daily business (receiving orders, data entry, informing customers about shipment status etc.)
- Establishing relationships with day‑to‑day contacts
- Selling and negotiating at a transactional level
- Identifying new opportunities with current customers outside the existing scope
- Establishing and proactively maintaining relationships with management level contacts both inside and outside your organisation
- Gathering, analysing, and preparing relevant information for business reviews and being an active participant
- Following up on the status of your customers’ transport operations
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in an account management or new business role, preferably within European Road Freight
- Energy and willingness to learn and grow
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
- Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others
- Must be fluent in English and preferably any other European language (e.g., Polish, Lithuanian, Spanish, French, German, Bulgarian etc.)
