Detail2 Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-established commercial vehicle workshop to find an experienced HGV Technician for their team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician to work across a variety of commercial vehicles in a reputable, supportive workshop environment. Both workshop-based and mobile technicians will be considered.

HGV Technician - The details

  • £23.00 per hour + overtime at 1.5x
  • Shift Pattern: Days, 07:00/08:00 - 16:00/17:00 (Monday-Friday)
  • Flexible start/finish (7/8am start, 4/5pm finish)

HGV Technician - Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an HGV Technician
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • IRTEC and/or City & Guilds accreditation
  • Proven MOT preparation experience
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous for mobile role)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Own tools (workshop-based)

HGV Technician - Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • MOT preparation and presenting vehicles for testing
  • Completing job cards and paperwork to a high standard, in line with compliance requirements
  • Working safely and in line with health & safety regulations
  • Liaising with workshop management/controllers on job progress
  • Mobile candidates: attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs/servicing at customer sites
