About the company
Our client is a national food manufacturer with eight sites across the UK, who is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to the engineering team based at the Wrexham site. This is a hands-on and varied role where you'll be part of our on-site engineering team, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
Mechanical Engineer - The Details
- Salary up to £48,000
- 4 on / 4 off (Day Shift 6am 6pm)
- Full-time, Permanent
Mechanical Engineer - Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance on production and intake systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns, minimising downtime.
- Liaising closely with mill colleagues to support continuous production.
- Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, quality, and performance.
- Ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept for compliance and safety.
Mechanical Engineer - Requirements
- A recognised qualification/apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Minimum 17th Edition certification (18th Edition desirable).
- Experience in industrial engineering environments with both short and long-term project delivery.
- Good knowledge of Star Delta, PLCs and Safe Isolation processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team.
