Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer – Construction & Industrial – Huntingdon – £40,000 Basic – up to £45,000 OTE
About the Company
Our client provides on-site customer support for a wide range of heavy construction equipment, including Hydraulic Excavators, Dumpers, Telehandlers, Forklifts, Rollers. The primary focus is to keep machinery in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer – The Rewards
- Basic salary circa £40,000 (dependent on experience)
- Up to £45,000 OTE
- Overtime paid at 1.5x
- Monday – Friday
- Specialist tools and PPE provided

Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer – Requirements
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Ability to service a wide range of heavy tracked plant machinery
- Experience with Cummins fault diagnostics preferable
- Experience working on Wastemaster machines preferable
- Able to investigate and diagnose technical problems (including climbing on and under heavy machinery)
- Physically fit for heavy lifting and lone working
- Excellent verbal, written, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to work independently without supervision
Mobile Heavy Plant Engineer – Responsibilities
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with equipment
- Service a variety of machines both on-site and off-site
- Work independently to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently
- Complete job cards promptly and to a high standard
- Ensure all paperwork and timesheets are completed accurately and on time
- Request parts efficiently and effectively
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Supervise Apprentices when required, ensuring high-quality work and safe procedures
- Comply with relevant procedures when repairing and inspecting equipment
- Ensure all work and personal equipment complies with safety standards
- Always present a professional image
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety, as well as that of colleagues and customers, in line with company policy
- Ensure all personal tools are safe and legal for use
- Only use company-supplied lifting equipment and accessories (no personal lifting equipment permitted)
