Due to rapid growth, we are working with a well-established engineering business based in Northamptonshire on their hunt for a Project Engineer! The company specialises in mechanical and ventilation projects across a variety of industries. They have a fantastic reputation and a close-knit, collaborative culture where teamwork, initiative, and hands-on involvement are highly valued.
This role is hybrid but would require once a week in the office in Northamptonshire. The successful candidate must have a full, clean driving licence.
Mechanical Project Engineer - The Details- Paying between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on experience
- Brand new company car

- Manage projects end-to-end: enquiry handling, site visits, specification, design, quoting, scheduling, installation, and customer handover
- Work with the Project Coordinator to plan projects, create Gantt charts, and manage resources and timelines.
- Liaise with clients, ensuring clear communication and smooth project delivery.
- Support the team where needed, with shadowing at the start to learn internal processes.
- Take ownership of your projects, maintaining oversight from start to finish.
- Travel to client sites within ~1 hour of Northampton (national projects may arise).
- Proven experience in project engineering or mechanical design, ideally within ventilation, dust, or fume extraction systems.
- Strong technical knowledge, including design and specification of systems; AutoCAD/3D software experience is a plus
- Highly proactive, confident in following up on opportunities and closing deals.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving license.
- Personality and attitude are key: collaborative, hands-on, and able to fit into a close-knit, high-performing team.
