You will help run a community café while supporting adults with learning disabilities to develop hospitality, vocational, social and employability skills. You will play a key role in helping people build confidence, independence and practical workplace experience.
The Details
- £28,212 pro rata (based on 37.5 hours)
- Part time position
- 30 hours per week
- Tuesday-Friday, 9am-3.30pm initially, with occasional evenings and weekends
- Enhanced DBS required
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Support the day-to-day running of the community café.
- Prepare and serve drinks, snacks and light meals.
- Provide excellent customer service and operate the till/POS system.
- Manage stock, displays and café opening/closing procedures.
- Support individuals to develop hospitality, customer service and employability skills.
- Provide person-centred support, promoting choice, independence and confidence.
- Support horticultural activities, including harvesting and preparing produce for the café.
- Build positive relationships with customers, families, colleagues and community partners.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding.
- Support community events and enterprise activities.
- Experience in hospitality, catering, retail or a customer-facing environment.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve their goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
- Flexible, adaptable and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
