We need a caring and dependable support worker to help two people in the community with their daily needs. The job entails taking a woman in a wheelchair to college twice a week, providing personal care at home one day a week, being involved in the community one day a week, and dropping off and picking up a second service user from college twice a day. The hours are split up around college hours and change from term to term and based on necessity. This job is very important for fostering independence, safety, and a good quality of life.
Duties:
- Give a female service user respectful personal care that follows care plans and training.
- Take them to and from college, talk to college staff, and make sure they are safe and on time.
- Support from the community (trips, events, and growing confidence).
- Help with meals, drinks, and nutrition as needed.
- Only give medicine as directed by the care plan and record it correctly.
- Keep clear, up-to-date care records and let others know right away when something changes.
- Follow the rules for protecting yourself from infections, moving and managing things, and keeping people safe.
- Support mobility (including safe use of equipment) and learn how to move and lift safely.
- As needed, drive or transport service users to college, appointments, and activities.
Skills:
- Only women—Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 says that this job must be done by women (intimate personal care for a female service user).
- You need a full UK driving licence, your own car, and business-use insurance.
- You should only apply if you can work split or changeable hours around college times.
- Good communication, empathy, and dependability.
- Experience in home or community support or college escorting is a plus (training will be given).
- Basic first aid and moving and handling (training is available if needed).
- You must have an Enhanced DBS, good references, and the permission to work in the UK.
Visa sponsorship: After at least six months of good service, we may explore Skilled Worker sponsorship, depending on the needs of the business, the role, and UKVI restrictions. There is no assurance of sponsorship.
