We are looking for an experienced Digital Operations & Systems Executive to lead and develop our organisation's digital infrastructure and systems architecture. This job manages complex IT infrastructures, ensures system security and implements creative solutions to support corporate growth. The successful candidate will be key in ensuring operational excellence in cloud platforms, virtualisation and network systems to support the organisation's strategy digital transformation.
Responsibilities
- Design, create & manage scalable system architectures using Service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices and solution architecture principles.
- High availability and performance optimisation of cloud-based systems e.g. AWS, Azure, VMware environments.
- Maintain system stability and security, and administer systems on Windows, Linux, UNIX, and ESXi operating systems.
- Deploy and manage containerisation and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker to simplify deployments.
- Develop APIs utilising RESTful services to provide smooth integration across platforms.
- Implement and maintain network security elements such firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, load balancers and information security policies.
- Automate everyday processes using scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting, and T-SQL.
- Manage databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on performance tuning and data integrity.
- Use DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins and SDLC techniques to achieve continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Monitor system health and address issues proactively with VMware vSphere (ESXi), Kubernetes dashboards and other monitoring tools.
- Started initiatives in system design, system architecture advancements, load balancing solutions and information security.
- Work with cross functional teams to build strategic plans for system upgrades and technology adoption that support organisational goals.
Qualifications
- Good knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Experience in VMware virtualisation technologies.
- Strong knowledge of service orientated architecture (SOA) and microservices architecture and solution design ideas.
- Hands on experience on Operating Systems including Windows Server, Linux distros (Ubuntu, CentOS), UNIX versions; exposure to system administration chores.
- Hands-on experience of containerisation (Kubernetes) and virtualisation (ESXi).
- Scripting Languages: Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting and T-SQL (knowledgeable).
- Good knowledge of Network principles, DNS, DHCP, VPNs; Firewall setup; Load balancing strategies.
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database database management skills Knowledge of SQL optimisation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Git version control system and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of information security principles, such as firewall administration and data protection techniques.
