Job Summary
We are looking for caring and committed Care Assistants to join our domiciliary care team in Hillingdon and nearby areas.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for sponsorship.
The work involves delivering high‑quality tailored care to people in their own homes, promoting their freedom and welfare.
Candidates should have a minimum of 1–2 years paid care experience and practical knowledge with hoist and moving & handling equipment.
Good communication skills and the capacity to work individually as well as in a team are required.
All opportunities are paid, including internships.
Responsibilities (Duties)
- Provide tailored care to clients in their own homes, respecting individual requirements and preferences.
- Assist with everyday routines such as showering, dressing, cooking and medication assistance.
- Safely use hoists, stand aids and moving & handling equipment in accordance with individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Help clients with bed‑to‑chair, chair‑to‑wheelchair and bath transfers.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans to meet the clients’ needs, including manual handling techniques as advised by occupational therapists.
- Use IT systems and paperwork to maintain accurate records of care provided.
- Effectively communicate with clients, family members and health care professionals to promote continuity of treatment.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving when appropriate.
- Notify the care coordinator immediately of any equipment malfunction or changes in the client’s mobility needs.
- Promote independence and provide safety and comfort at all times.
- Follow health and safety requirements and infection control methods.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years paid experience in a care home or domiciliary care environment.
- Practical knowledge of hoist operation and moving & handling equipment.
- Awareness of safe manual handling practices and risk assessment.
- Driver's licence desirable to aid clients requiring transport assistance.
- Good grasp of English language skills (writing and spoken).
- Basic IT skills for correct record keeping and completion of documents.
- Excellent communication skills and a sympathetic approach toward clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, adaptable and dedicated to providing superior care.
- Right to work in the UK or Health Care Worker visa sponsorship available.
