Overview of the Job
To join our vibrant team, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Clerk. Our supply chain and logistics operations will run smoothly thanks in large part to the perfect candidate. Strong organisational abilities, data entry expertise, and knowledge of transportation management systems are prerequisites for this role. In addition to keeping correct records and assisting with the general effectiveness of our transportation operations, the Transportation Clerk will be in charge of organising shipments.
Duties
- Oversee and plan the shipment schedule to guarantee on-time delivery.
- Enter data pertaining to inventory records and shipment documentation.
- Track shipments and handle logistics by using transportation management systems (TMS).
- To cut expenses, haggle over prices with suppliers and transporters.
- Create leads for prospective new ventures in the supply chain industry.
- Verify adherence to pertinent industry standards and FDA regulations.
- To improve service delivery, work together with third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers.
- Support the sales team logistically to help with sales management tasks.
- Keep thorough records of all communications and transactions pertaining to transportation-related activity.
Requirements
- It is ideal if you have demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar industry.
- It helps to be familiar with AS400 systems.
- Excellent data entry abilities and a sharp attention to detail.
- Outstanding negotiating abilities to handle professional connections successfully.
- It is advantageous to be familiar with FDA transportation restrictions.
- The capacity to be both self-motivated and cooperative in a group setting.
- Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to oversee several projects at once.
- Adept at using a variety of logistics and transportation-related software programs.
