We are looking for a motivated, dedicated temporary charity worker to assist with a range of community projects and outreach efforts. This is a wonderful chance to gain significant experience in the charitable sector, working with a motivated team dedicated to having a positive effect. The role is on a voluntary and unpaid basis. However, any reasonable expenditures such as travel and meals are reimbursed.
Responsibilities
- Help organise and coordinate charitable events and campaigns
- Support fundraising efforts using outreach and engagement methods
- Use social media platforms to publicise the charity’s activities and raise awareness
- Provide administrative support including data input, correspondence and record keeping
- Manage volunteers, ensuring that they are used efficiently on projects
- Involve community people to promote the charity’s services and initiatives
- Support the church in its ministry of evangelisation in the communities and organise associated events
- Assist with church educational activities or teaching sessions as needed
- Help the church with its food bank and food distribution to the neighbourhood
- Assist older persons of the community with their shopping and medication
Experience
- Previous experience in community or organisational supervision desirable
- Skills in project management, planning, organisation and implementation of events or campaigns
- Ability to motivate team members and volunteers and leadership skills
- Experience in marketing or social media management to increase outreach efforts
- Administrative experience in support of programme coordination or office functions
- Public health issues related to knowledge of community involvement program
- Teaching experience or an educational background is a plus but not required
