- POSITION SUMMARY
We’re looking for a professional and committed Plasterer to join our construction team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for plastering internal and outdoor surfaces to a high-quality finish in line with project specifications.
This is a great opportunity for those with experience in the crafts of masonry, carpentry or similar to develop their talents in a professional atmosphere.
The chosen applicant will be working on a variety of building sites delivering the reality of both residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Surface preparation Clean and sand, apply appropriate base coats before to plastering.
- Mix and apply plaster with hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment to obtain smooth finishes.
- Repair / replace damaged surfaces (eg brickwork, masonry pieces etc.) as necessary.
- Use bricklaying techniques to support plastering work, if necessary.
- Operate a variety of tools securely and efficiently including trowels, hawks, mixers, and other hand tools.
- Work with other team members such as masons, carpenters and roofers to keep the job moving.
- Observe all health and safety rules at all times throughout work.
- Make sure your workspace is clean and tidy for safety and efficiency.
Educational Qualification
- Proven experience in plastering or similar industries such as masonry or carpentry a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment used in plastering operations.
- Experience in bricklaying, roofing, welding and other general masonry procedures preferred.
- Capable of reading technical drawings, and following specific directions precisely.
- Good physical fitness and capability to work at heights or in tight places if needed.
- Strong eye for detail and the ability to create great finishes.
- Relevant health and safety certification preferred but not essential, training can be provided to the successful applicant.
