Priority Services 4U is looking for dependable and kind female care workers for its domiciliary care team in Reading. The role involves providing essential in‑home support to vulnerable individuals to preserve their independence, dignity and standard of living.
We are looking for caring and committed female care workers to help people in their homes from 7 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. The job includes helping clients with everyday tasks, ensuring safety, and encouraging independence. If you have prior experience in caregiving, hospice care, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, or general caregiving, you will be an asset. This paid role allows you to advance your career in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with personal hygiene (dressing, grooming, bathing)
- Help with transfer and mobility tasks, including heavy lifting as required
- Prepare wholesome meals based on each person’s dietary needs
- Administer medication according to guidelines and schedules
- Engage clients in activities to enhance their mental and emotional well‑being
- Manage behaviour, especially with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce loneliness or isolation
- Maintain detailed notes of care provided and any changes to the client’s condition
- Transport clients to social events or appointments as needed
- Respond to emergencies using first‑aid techniques
- Experience in caregiving roles such as nursing, home care, or hospice settings is preferred.
- Previous work with elderly or fragile individuals, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s, is highly desirable.
- First‑aid certification, meal‑preparation skills, ability to control attitude, and medicine delivery experience are prized.
- Strong patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- A valid driver’s licence is advantageous for client transportation requirements.
