This opportunity offers NHS and private pharmacy experience, professional development support, and potential Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for eligible international applicants.

Overview of the Job

At Ipswich Road Pharmacy in Norwich, we are looking for a driven and patient-focused chemist to join our independent community pharmacy team. Delivering NHS and private pharmacy services, maintaining high standards of patient care, and guaranteeing the safe and efficient supply of medications are all part of the job. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who wants to work in a supportive, forward-thinking community pharmacy environment with a growing focus on clinical service development. Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable, particularly as community pharmacy services continue to expand, but it is not essential for the right candidate. Applications are also open to newly qualified chemists. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate who meets UKVI eligibility requirements.

Tasks

  • Ensure the safe, effective and legal supply of medicines in accordance with GPhC and NHS standards.
  • Accurately and safely dispense, professionally inspect, and oversee prescription medications.
  • Deliver NHS pharmacy services including Pharmacy First, New Medicine Service (NMS), blood pressure checks, Pharmacy Contraception Service and flu vaccinations.
  • Provide professional advice and counselling to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee, assist, and train pharmacy support personnel.
  • Maintain accurate dispensing, clinical and service records in line with SOPs.
  • Support the development of NHS and private pharmacy services, including future prescribing-led services where appropriate.
  • Help maintain high standards of patient safety, confidentiality, compliance and customer care.

Experience

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacist, or candidate awaiting GPhC registration by start date.
  • While not necessary, prior experience working at a community pharmacy is preferred.
  • Applications from recently qualified chemists are encouraged.
  • Strong desire to provide both private and NHS clinical services.
  • Outstanding counselling and communication abilities.
  • The capacity to operate with assurance both individually and together.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with a focus on precision and patient safety.

For candidates who are not currently Independent Prescribers, support for future development may be considered subject to business needs, course availability, eligibility and an agreed training plan.

Types of Jobs: Permanent, Full-Time 40–45 hours a week are anticipated.
