Senior Support Worker is responsible to Manor Healthcare Domiciliary Care Agency Registered Manager, and collaborates with a group of support personnel to achieve the scheme’s goals, helping clients to maintain a home where they are supported, encouraged and assisted to reach their full potential in independence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and advance the principles that guide Manor Healthcare Domiciliary Care Agency’s operations.
- Respond appropriately to crises or difficult situations in compliance with Manor Healthcare’s rules, procedures, Trust protocols and guidelines.
- Keep abreast of obligations within Manor Healthcare and the policy of the Healthcare Domiciliary Care Agency regarding safeguarding arrangements and protection of vulnerable adults.
- Follow Manor Healthcare’s standards, processes and guidelines when providing services.
- Create a cosy environment and accompany customers on trips, events and holidays, alone or in a group.
- Provide clients with guidance and assistance with budgeting, cooking, personal cleanliness, and other daily tasks.
- Address clients’ care needs and participate in routine client evaluations.
- Observe, report and handle in accordance with Manor Healthcare standards any unusual behaviours, mishaps or client‑related problems.
- Assist clients who may exhibit difficult behaviours and require the use of physical or restrictive interventions in a manner that is acceptable, sensitive and compliant with the policies and guidelines of Manor Healthcare Domiciliary Care Agency and required training.
- Follow the medication administration policies and procedures of Manor Healthcare Domiciliary Care Agency.
- Follow the rules and guidelines for managing and maintaining client financial data.
- Engage in team approach to assisted living by attending staff meetings.
- Maintain efficient written, spoken and nonverbal communication as necessary.
- Complete training pertinent to the role.
- Participate fully in performance development and review mechanisms and supervision at Manor Healthcare.
- Work the night shift as needed.
- Allow access to, and collaborate with RQIA or Trust officials while working cooperatively with all relevant specialists and agencies.

- Valid driver’s licence in the UK.
