We are looking for a passionate Assistant to join our vibrant kitchen team. The successful applicant will assist with food production and preparation in a busy culinary setting. This is a great position to obtain hands‑on experience in food service operations with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Assistant will work closely with Chefs and staff to ensure everyday operations run smoothly and assist with creating delectable bakery items.

  • Help prepare and assemble ingredients for different bakery products
  • Assist with baking activities under direction of senior staff
  • Assist with baking operations according to recipes and safety standards
  • Keep the cooking space clean and tidy and wash the utensils and equipment
  • Always follow food safety procedures to maintain hygienic standards
  • Monitor supplies and advise management of shortages to aid stock rotation and inventory management
  • Work successfully with colleagues to help foster a positive team atmosphere

Work Experience

  • Previous experience in bakery production/preparation preferred but not needed; training will be provided to the right applicant
  • Knowledge of cooking methods, baking and cooking techniques a plus
  • Experience in a bread business or comparable food service environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and useful methods
  • Passion for culinary arts and gaining new abilities while working in a professional kitchen environment
